My Desktop Computer

My desktop computer has had issues for a long, long time. We're talking blue screens of death if you even thought about restarting it for any reason. Instead of restarting I would have to turn it off and wait 30 minutes or longer, usually longer, just to be able to use it again. I know I have fans that are no longer working and my computer is hotter than it needs to be. I have to wait for a while before I can have a new one built. Glad I have my laptop to use as my rig until then. A friend of mine told me Friday that I needed to reinstall my operating system. Problem. I have my XP cd but I've reinstalled it more times than Microsoft allows so that would mean having to buy a new license. Yeah, not going to do that. Windows 7 is going to be released this fall and that is the OS I want on my desktop rig. Since Microsoft is allowing everyone to test Windows 7 with a release candidate I decided to give it a try. What's the worse that can happen is that it won't work right? Well, it works. So far so good.

New Computer

No. There isn't anything wrong with the picture you see. It is my new laptop. I took pictures of it this morning and decided to get creative in Photoshop. For as long as I can remember I have wanted a laptop. At one time laptops were geared toward business people. Now that isn't the case. Laptops can be used for things such as internet only, as is the case with netbooks, to desktop replacements and gaming rigs. My current desktop computer is at least 6 years old if not older. It still runs but besides being outdated it is having issues. These issues mean it could quit on me at any time. Now my desktop has been moved over and is pretty much used for just watching things on the internet. The best thing about having a laptop? Portability. Since I am a scrapbook artist and have decided to delve into the world of digital scrapping I can now scrapbook anywhere. Which is a good thing since we tend to spend quite a bit of time at my sister-in-laws house. Another great plus? Being able to watch tutorials on one rig and working on the tut on the other. This rig also serves as my current gaming rig since it is as current as a computer can be and can run the latest games.

A Random Post

I had good intensions to make a post at the beginning of the year. It didn't happen. I've also had all kinds of random thoughts going through my head that would make great essays. Never happened. I've also been delving into the world of digital scrapbooking. Got some link to some wonderful sites to post and also want to display my work. So maybe, if I can get over the lazies, I will post more.

Distressed

I'm not distressed because it is Christmas Eve and I still have more to do than hours in the day. Although, I have made progress. I was able to make my trip to Target and get a couple extra gifts and am about half way finished with my clipboards.

You know those shows that you find on The History Channel, and on other channels, that have to do with the Bible? Well, those are a source of distress and contention for me. I can't help but to believe that the people who create such shows do so to get people to turn away from the truth of the Bible and God himself. Yep, just another ploy of Satan. Now personally I am not bothered by what other people chose to believe as it has no true effect on me. However when it has to do with members of your household then things can be very disconcerting. My dh, as wonderful as he is, has back slidden in recent years. True lots has happened in recent years but that's no excuse. Would be wonderful if we could be on the same page spiritually since we have a small child. Saddly, that is not the case and quite frankly there isn't a thing I can do about it. We wives are to win our husbands over by our actions not necessarily by our words. I don't think it would bother me much if it wasn't for the fact that we have a child that I want to grow up in God's Word and to stay true to the faith I'm trying to teach her. I find it difficult if not daunting to teach her the truth of God's Word if dh is questioning it. If I believed God's Word isn't true or accurate then how can I teach that to my own child or to my Sunday School children for that matter. If it isn't true then why read the Bible, attend church, sing and play Godly music, go to Bible studies and send my child to Christian school? If parts of the Bible are wrong and inaccurate then all of it is. If parts of the Bible are true and accurate then all of it is. If parts of the Bible are wrong then God is a liar. The last time I checked God can't lie so that means that the Bible is true.

Procrastination!

AAAAAAHHHHH! Can you feel the panic? I can. Here it is two days before Chistmas and I have too much to do and not enough time to do it in. I still need to buy a thing or two for Sara and finish two altered clipboards. I am soooo thankful for naptime still. Clipboards can be worked on at that time and after putting Sara to bed. The bit of shopping I need to do is a problem. Problem in that childcare is a necessity while Daddy is at work. Plus I have family coming in this evening. Was planning on going over to my mother's house for dinner and quick visit but in all honesty I really need to get a little shopping done tonight. Who knows. I might be able to fit both in at the same time. And why am I sitting here typing this while I have so much to do? My paint needs to dry. Thankfully acrylic paint dries quickly. Plus I need to look for a few ideas for sayings.

Has Santa Come Yet?

The title says it all: Has Santa Come Yet? I have been hearing those words now since before Thanksgiving. With this being the week of Christmas you can hear the desperation in my little one's voice as if she's afraid Santa will not come. But with the excitement of Christmas and Santa's arrival, the real meaning to this time of year must be emphasised even more: The birth of Jesus. I think my dd is grasping the concept of what this time of year is about. She's talked about it in preschool and Sunday school and seen the mangers that people have put up in their yards as part of their Christmas displays.

Now on to scrapbooking. Yes, I have started scrapbooking again. Last year was the last time I did any scrapbooking....Christmas to be exact. This year I am making altered clipboards. They are fun to make and are great gifts. I am also doing Faithbooking with a friend from church so that has helped to get me started again. I looked at some pictures of scrapbook rooms and then went into mine to work on my project. I started feeling claustrophobic because mine is a part of my walk-in closet. But then I got to thinking, as much as I want to have my own room for scrapbooking I am blessed that I do have this area as mine to create in. Some scrapbookers have to work on their kitchen table, tv tray or floor. I am blessed with this small area to call my own and express my creativity.

Since I have had a renewed interest in scrapbooking again I have also become interested in digital scrapbooking. Don't ask me why. I love working with paper, tools, embellishments. I love the feel of a pair of scissors in my hand. I love picking up a paintbrush and adding a little paint. But I see peoples digital scrapbook pages and I think to myself how I would love to display some of those things on my blog. I may actually give it a try. No reason why I can't do both. There's lots of free digital sets on the internet and I can either use GIMP or another free program. I won't be out any money and if I don't enjoy it or like the results it isn't a huge loss.

Changing Stuff

Yeah I know. I had my blog all decorated for Christmas. But honestly the layout design wasn't doing anything for me. I'm getting back into scrapbooking again so I wanted my blog to be a little more creative looking. I'm enjoying how easy it is to makes changes here and add things that I want without having to edit the html.
